The Textile Sub Forum Of The Yangtze River Delta Science And Technology Forum Was Held In Nantong

On May 17, the textile sub forum of the 19th Yangtze River Delta Science and Technology Forum was held in Nantong. The forum was co sponsored by Jiangsu Textile Engineering Society, Shanghai Textile Engineering Society, Zhejiang Textile Engineering Society, Nantong Market Supervision Administration, Nantong Science and Technology Association and Nantong Innovation Zone. With the theme of "fiber" enlightening the future of textile industry, this forum has jointly researched advanced fiber materials and high-end textile innovative development, providing a target direction and path planning for promoting the development of Nantong chemical fiber industry. Shen Lei, Deputy Secretary of Nantong Municipal Party Committee and Head of Publicity Department, Feng Shaodong, Vice Chairman of Jiangsu Association for Science and Technology, and leaders of Jiangsu Zhejiang Shanghai Textile Engineering Society attended and delivered speeches.

Shen Lei said that Nantong is a city of opportunity and hope with superior transportation location, strong industrial foundation and first-class business environment. In 2022, Nantong high-end textile cluster was selected into the national advanced manufacturing cluster, forming a modern textile industry system with complete categories and supporting facilities, such as cotton textile, home textile, clothing, chemical fiber, silk, printing and dyeing, and is one of the regions with the highest concentration and most complete categories of domestic textile industry. The chemical fiber industry is the core support for the steady development and continuous innovation of the textile industry chain. In the future, Nantong will focus on building the chemical fiber industry as a competitive industrial chain and accelerate the construction of a world-renowned fiber new material base.

Feng Shaodong, vice chairman of the Provincial Association for Science and Technology, said that the textile industry is a pillar industry of the national economy and an important supporting industry for Jiangsu's high-quality development. In recent years, Jiangsu textile industry has been accelerating the adjustment, transformation and upgrading of industrial structure, from clothing to national defense and military industry, from transportation to medical care, from environmental protection to new energy development. This forum has set up a professional, authoritative and forward-looking academic exchange platform for enterprises to collide ideas, discuss the cutting-edge technology together, and promote the solution of the bottleneck problem in the textile field.

Zhou Hongrong, president of Jiangsu Textile Engineering Society, said that the textile industry has always been the most important pillar industry and livelihood industry in China and our province, and has also been judged by the Chinese Academy of Engineering as one of China's most competitive industries in the world. The textile industry is related to economic and social development and stability, and to the construction of a national manufacturing power. In the new era, the textile industry should take the initiative to develop towards high quality and high standards in science and technology exhibition industry, fashion industry and green industry. It is necessary to comprehensively transform and follow up from the service direction, guiding theory, development impetus and other aspects.

During the activity, Donghua University and Jiangsu Jicui Professional Degree Postgraduate Training Base, Nantong University and Jiangsu Jicui Professional Degree Postgraduate Training Base were inaugurated to enable the high-quality development of Nantong's high-end textile industry with the dual wheel drive of "talent training+scientific and technological innovation".
