Xinjiang Agriculture Towards Full Mechanization

Since the 13th five year plan, the whole region has continuously promoted the whole mechanization of grain and cotton production and the comprehensive mechanization process of characteristic and advantageous industries such as animal husbandry, forestry and fruit, and facility agriculture, so as to continuously improve the comprehensive efficiency of agricultural production. From 2016 to 2019, the total power of agricultural machinery in the whole region will increase from 20625700 kW to 22768800 kW, and the comprehensive mechanization level of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery will increase from 66.04% to 68.57%. Mechanization has become an important foundation and support for the development of modern agriculture in the whole region.

As a traditional superior industry of agriculture in our region, the mechanized harvesting area increased rapidly with an average annual rate of more than one million mu during the 13th Five Year Plan period. From 2016 to 2019, the mechanized harvesting area of cotton in the whole region will be greatly increased from 4.8623 million mu to 14.15 million mu, the total number of cotton harvesters will be increased from 1145 to 2356, and the cotton mechanical harvest level will be increased from 20.71% to 53.91%.

In this process, the whole region takes the implementation of the national agricultural machinery purchase subsidy policy as the starting point, vigorously promotes the advanced, applicable, efficient and intelligent, green and environmental protection agricultural machinery, adheres to the agricultural machinery purchase subsidy fund, gives priority to meet the capital needs of the four prefectures in southern Xinjiang, optimizes the structure of agricultural machinery equipment, and constantly makes up for the short board of agricultural mechanization development.

Scientific and technological innovation of agricultural mechanization also made new progress during the 13th Five Year Plan period. According to incomplete statistics, up to now, more than 10000 sets of agricultural machinery and equipment in the region have used Beidou navigation service, the number of unmanned aerial vehicles for plant protection has exceeded 5000, and the operating area of unmanned aircraft for plant protection has exceeded 20 million mu.
